North Broad Street Safety Upgrade Project Phase 1
This safety upgrade project includes the lowering of a vertical curve obstruction between the Village Green and Brook park, and the inclusion of a dedicated right turn and left turn lane for southbound traffic approaching the village green. The project includes a dedicated right turn lane on Brook park and also a common turning lane at the intersection of Callahan, Brookpark, neff, and Skyline off North Broad. The Project will also include improved storm water drainage, sidewalks, and decorative lighting. The project limits of Phase 1 are from Skyline Drive south to the Village Green. the total Project Cost is $ 850,000 of which $714,000 was awarded to the City of Canfield in the form of a Grant from the Ohio Public Works Commission. The Local share comes from funding distributed to the City from the Motor Vehicle License fees and gas tax collected by the State of Ohio. ( see attached "before and construction photo's" ) |

Canfield Signalization Project
Canfield Signalization Project (to be awarded in fall 2012) $ 400,000
Project is funded 100% with Federal Congestion Management Air Quality (CMAQ) funding (project includes the replacement of the traffic signals and controllers at five (5) locations
in the City with Radio frequency control and traffic monitoring devices.

Fairground Blvd. and Hood Drive Enhancement Project
Project includes the placement of sidewalks along the south side of
Fairground Blvd. from SR 46 to the Main entrance to the Fairgrounds,
and along the Westside of Hood drive from Indian Lake Blvd. south to
Fairground Blvd. Project is funded in part by a grant from the Ohio
Department of Transportation covering 80% of the total project cost.
Said project is slated to commence in late 2011. Estimated project
cost $ 316,000 of which $ 252,800 (80%) is in the form of a ODOT
Enhancement grant and $63,200 (20%) is the local share of the
project. |
