City of Canfield Comprehensive Plan Request for Qualifications

The new Comprehensive Plan will be forward thinking and address anticipated growth and redevelopment in a way that preserves and develops the small town character, maximizes infrastructure, enhances multi-modal opportunities, while providing the City with a means to enhance the quality of life of residents and businesses by providing the means towards economic, social, and environmental stability.  The process will include the inventory, analysis, and fusion of information which will be organized into a series of planning elements (Land Use, Transportation, Infrastructure, Utilities, etc.) The selected consultant(s), with direction from the City, will engage the community in participatory process; facilitate public meetings; prepare the proposed plan for review by the City; and, based on this collective information and input, finalize the updated Comprehensive Plan.  The Comprehensive Plan will be adopted by the City Council in order to provide direction to City officials, staff, residents, businesses, and the development of community to implement the City’s strategic goals.

Storm Debris Clean Up-Tree Limbs/Branches

City Crews will be doing a sweep through the City on Monday November 26, 2018 through Wednesday November 28, 2018 to collect any brush/storm debris that citizens experienced as part of last week's winter storm.

Residents should have the brush at the street on Sunday Evening November 25, 2018 for pickup starting on Monday morning.  Please make sure to follow these guidelines
1) Brush should be cut in lengths NOT to exceed 10ft.
2) Diameter of branches all not exceed 8 inches. 
3) No roots,  no tree stumps/trunks will be picked up.

City Building Closed for Thanksgiving Holiday

The City Building will be closed for the Thanksgiving Holiday on November 22nd & 23rd. We will reopen on Monday, November 26th.

N. Hillside Drive Road Closure

North Hillside Drive from State Route 224 to Callahan Drive is CLOSED to traffic due to the Waterline Construction.  Traffic on North Hillside should be restricted to ONLY local traffic for the area.

City Wide Leaf Pickup to begin the Week of October 7th

The City wide leaf collection program will begin the week of October 7th and run through November 21st in the City of Canfield.  Residents are encouraged to rake leaves to the curb for crews to pickup on a weekly basis throughout the City for the duration of the program.  Questions, comments or concerns can be answered by calling City Hall at 330-533-1101. 

PLEASE REMEMBER THIS IS ONLY FOR LEAVES.  

DO NOT INCLUDE:
GRASS, TWIGS, ROOTS, BRANCHES, ETC. 

November Ballot-Charter Amendment Informational Town Hall Meetings

The City of Canfield will be hosting a series of information town hall style meetings through the months of September and October to provide the public with information on the proposed Charter Amendments to appear on the November Election Ballot.  These Town Hall meetings are to be held on the following dates, time, and locations:

Wednesday    September 12, 2018        6:00 PM        Canfield High School Auditorium
Wednesday    September 26, 2018        6:00 PM        Fair Park (Rotary Community Building)
Tuesday         October 9, 2018               6:00 PM        Mahoning County Career & Technical Center (MCCTC- Joyce Brooks Center)
Thursday        November 1, 2018           6:00 PM        St. Micheal's Church - Family Life Center (300 N. Broad St.)
